The San Rafael runs shallow through most of the season. The shelf road climbs out onto the bench where the sand gives way to slickrock.
The Wedge Overlook sits on the north rim of the Little Grand Canyon — dispersed camping on BLM land, no facilities, and nothing between the rim and the drop.
