Making Camp
The trip started in the afternoon with camp set up among tall coniferous trees, snow-capped mountains visible in the distance. Two vehicles — a white SUV with a roof rack and cargo carrier, and a darker SUV with its hatch open showing packed cargo boxes — were parked side by side near a fire ring and a couple of folding camp chairs, everything ready for the first night out with Trevor and AY.
First Night
As evening came on, a couple of short videos captured the scene settling into night.
Back on the Road
The next morning, camp broke near reddish-brown soil and more stands of coniferous trees, with the vehicles — the light-colored rig, a dark van with a roof rack, and another parked among the trees — lined up under a clear blue sky before heading out.
A Long Day of Driving
May 3rd turned into the heart of the trip, with the route working its way south and west through the backcountry over many hours — from midday into the evening and on into the night, following the roads that connected each stop along the way.
Late Night on the Move
The drive stretched on well past midnight, with the last clip of the night recorded in the small hours.
Final Stretch
By the evening of May 4th, the trip was drawing to a close with one last video marking the end of the run.
